JTC1/SC22/WG14

Attached is the invitation sent to ISO/IEC JCT1 SC22/WG14
committee members for the February 1997 meeting. The Hotel
and Travel information can be found in this invitation. I
would like to extend this invitation to the X3J11 membership.
The Kona meeting is a very important meeting for C9X, this
meeting will be that last meeting the committee will be
discussing new language features. I feel it is very important
for all X3J11 committee members to attend this meeting, we
have alot of work to do before we send our Working Paper
out for CD Registration.
X3J11 wishes for the USA to extend an invitation for
ISO/IEC JTC1 SC22/WG14 to hold a meeting in Kona Hawaii on
February 10-14, 1997. The meeting would be co-located with
a meeting of X3J11.

The Royal Waikoloan (+1-800-325-7171. FAX 1-808-921-6849)
Waikoloa, Hawaii, USA (on the "Big Island" of Hawaii)
A block of rooms at the Royal Waikoloan has been reserved, at the
special meeting rate of 99.15 USD per day single or double occupancy.
The hotel is a 15-minute drive from the international airport in
Keahole-Kona. (Please note that the island's other international
airport, at Hilo, is far: several hours' drive to the hotel.)
Non-stop flights can be made from San Francisco, Los Angeles, and
Tokyo; otherwise, attendees should fly to Honolulu, Hawaii, and
transfer to an inter-island flight to Kona.
The airport is situated on a large, barren lava field. Attendees
unfamiliar with Hawaii should not be alarmed by its appearance; the
rest of this beautiful, mountainous island varies greatly in
topography, from desert to rain-forest.
Car rentals are available at Kona, arranged through the hotel for
25.00 USD per day, or through the usual USA car rental companies.
The Big Island is rural and sparsely settled, so a car rental (or a
friend with a car rental) is advisable but not essential; taxi
service is also available at the airport, with no pre-arrangement
needed.
Arrangements for light breakfast and coffee breaks have been
provided. Also, copying service will be available without cost to
attendees.
There will be no expense incurred by ANSI, the JTC 1 TAG Administrator,
or the X3 Secretariat by the US hosting of this meeting
Please contact Thomas Plum, who is the local host and local contact person,
